Experiences 2

Hate is necessary in love"
When I first met him, it was our sophomore year of high school. He was a friend of a friend. She introduced us when he sat at our lunch table one day. Something about him seriously rubbed me the wrong way, I couldn't stand him. We would fight everyday that year over the stupidest little things. I hated him. So when I didn't see him for a semester, I was relieved... actually, I forgot about him.
The junior homecoming dance was the first formal dance that I had ever gone to. I felt beautiful in my black gown and shoes that looked like glass slippers. I went with three of my best friends and we knew we were going to have the time of our lives. But as soon as I walked in the door, I spotted him on the dance floor. Since my group had to walk by him in order to get to our table, I decided to be polite and wave at him. As my friends and I walked around the gym, seeing who all was there, we ended up passing him three times until we stopped to talk to him. He looked right at me with a puzzled look on his face.
"Are you who I think you are?" He has waved back at me each time, so I was surprised that he asked.
"Who do you think I am?" I was curious to hear his answer.
"Sarah?" He looked me up and down. "You are hot! Do you want to dance with me?" I couldn't help but laugh. We ended up talking for a while, then I had to leave.
The second semester of our junior year, I walked into my new history class to find him in there. I could have screamed as my memories of him before homecoming had came back to me. But as he spoke to me, something seemed different. We didn't yell, we talked, I mean really talked, civily, for the first time.
I started to talk to him everyday. And as our friendship grew, we started having lunch together and spending our weekends together. Over time, I developed a crush one him. I didn't know how to tell him after how mean I had been to him in the past. One day I found the courage, but he beat me to it. We've been dating ever since. As I look at my promise ring and the plans for our future that we have made, I can't help but see about the sophomore guy that I couldn't stand that had become my soulmate.
